Beautiful hike up to the old water tower
One of the highlights of our hikes. After seeing the ruins of Van Slykes Castle, we travel past remnants of the pool and visit Water Tower.
This place is a part of "castle ruins", an abandoned mansion built by a wall street broker and vandalized by a local gang.The lookout in front of the mansion ruins offers a commanding view of Wanaque Reservoir and Ramapo Lake. On clear day you can see Manhattan skyline. Most hikers stops here to enjoy the scenic views and walk to Water Tower Ruins or pass by it.

The castle ruins are great. Such a peaceful place. The trail is a bit steep but not too long.
